There you go. 2,000 points with all the tanks and infantry I ever need. This is a very fluffy list that allows me to play an Imperial Guard battalion that needs Primaris Deathwatch Marines' support. Like all Astra Militarum regiments, it has both infantry and tanks, so that's really cool. I can just imagine the kind of story I can weave with this list.
"Take cover!"
Taniguchi dove to the ground instinctively the moment he heard Captain Sawasaki's voice. Risking a glance upward, he saw shrapnel raining down on the trencth his platoon had dug in. Ueno disappeared in a red mist, his head pulverized by the gleaming metal, while Ueda toppled over, screaming. It took a moment for Taniguchi to realize that Ueda was missing his arm. The shell had torn right through his shoulder, unleashing a river of blood.
"Medic!"
Sergeant Kaneda's gruff voice boomed across the trench. A corpsman hurried over, ducking his head as he traveled through the trench. Overhead, another metallic whistle screamed before unleashing a second hail of deadly metal on the cowering men.
Taniguchi hugged his plasma gun to his chest, gritting his teeth as he waited for the bombardment to stop. He closed his eyes for a minute, silently begging the Emperor for salvation, for anything to get him out of this predicament. The enemies of the Imperium were vast, but he had never fought anything as deadly as the Iron Warriors. Masters of siege, the traitorous Space Marines had been shelling Hive Krask for weeks before the Draconian Armored Defenders arrived to relieve the beleaguered defense force.
But who's going to relieve us?
Taniguchi gripped his weapon tightly, muttering a prayer.
"Your corpse god won't save you now."
His eyes flew open and he glanced up as a hideous warrior dropped into the trench with him. Clad in spiky, dull gray armor, the Iron Warrior struck a menacing pose. A grin slit across his mutiliated face as the Chaos Space Marine raised his boltgun to obliterate the shivering mortal before him.
However, Taniguchi reacted first. It wasn't that his reflexes were faster than that of the superhuman heretic Astartes. No, it was an accident. He had jerked up in fear at the Traitor's voice and accidentally squeezed the trigger.
The Chaos Space Marine's eyes widened when he saw the devastating blue beam of light flare out from the barrel. Trapped in the confined spaces of the trench, he had nowhere to flee, and the superheated blob of plasma incinerated the upper half of his body. No doubt his accursed soul must be regretting ever speaking up and gloating over what he thought was an easy kill. Mortal Taniguchi might be, but he was protected by the Emperor.
"Blessed Terra..." Taniguchi breathed as he stared at the remains of the Iron Warrior. The bottom half of the Space Marine remained standing, still clad in that indomitable armor, as if it hadn't realized it was dead yet. One leg staggered forward, then the charred remnants of the Iron Warrior collapsed.
Taniguchi sagged against the wall, utterly relieved. His hands were still shaking and he had to fumble with his plasma gun to prevent it from another accidental discharge.
However, he didn't have much of a respite. The trench wall beside him detonated, mass reactive shells embedding themselves into the thick rock and blowing them apart. Blinded and deafened, Taniguchi struck the ground, tears brimming in his eyes. Looking up groggily, he watched in horror as an entire squad of Iron Warriors dropped into the trench, firing their boltguns. The Draconians tried to rally, but most of them were caught in the merciless hail of shells, the Iron Warriors targeting the fleeing Guardsmen with pinpoint accuracy. The once impenetrable line of Draconian Defenders was broken, the Imperial Guardsmen routed by the godlike skills of the treacherous Astartes.
"For the Emperor."
Even with death staring him right in the face, Taniguchi didn't back away. He flinched as another near-miss struck nearby, imploding poor Hakata into strips of flesh and blood. Raising his plasma gun, he took aim and fired. His first shot caught an Iron warrior and sent him spinning, obliterating his arm. However, the Chaos Space Marine rallied, his wound already cauterized by the intense heat. Growling in vengeance, he and his brothers turned toward the quailing Taniguchi, who realized that he had just committed the dumbest misake ever. The traitors raised their boltguns in perfect unison, ready to condemn him to a messy death.
They never fired.
A hail of bolter rounds slammed into the group of traitors. Penetrating the ancient power armor that protected them from frantic las-bolts from the panicking Draconian Guardsmen's lasguns, the newcomers' weapons dug deep into the traitors' bodies before detonating. Molten fire swept through the veins of the screaming Iron Warriors, reducing their bodies to slag despite the enhanced immune system and physiology that supposedly protected them from most chemicals and poisons.
Taniguchi blinked as he stared at the melting Iron Warriors. Those weren't normal bolt rounds, he realized. They were a special type of ammunition...rare even among the revered demigods of the Adeptus Astartes.
Glancing up, his jaw dropped when he witnessed a squad of Space Marines striding toward the trench, opening up with their bolt rifles to drive the traitors back. The Iron Warriors swiftly responded to this new threat, bringing in their vehicles to fire upon the new arrivals. However, accompanying the Intercessors was a quartet of Hellblasters. Raising their plasma incinerators, they supercharged the weapons and converged their blue superheated beams into a single point on the Chaos Vindicator. The Iron Warrior driving the corrupted construct was vaporized immediately, along with the controls, and the damned vehicle ground to a halt. Beside the Hellblasters, a single Aggressor strode up and bathed the trench with flames, engulfing the Iron Warriors still within in a raging inferno. Those that survived the extreme temperatures were picked off by the Intercessors.
One of the Iron Warriors managed to hurl himself out of the trench. With a bellow, he charged at the approaching Intercessors, his boltgun barking out a stream of death. At the head of the Intercessors, a single warrior stepped forward to meet the Iron Warrior in combat. Drawing his power sword, he activated the antique weapon and sheathed the blade in a gleaming, blue power field. With a single stroke, he cut the charging Iron Warrior down before beheading the screaming heretic. The headless Iron Warrior remained on his knees for a few more moments, his boltgun still spitting out a defiant spray of shells, and then he finally keeled over and flopped lifelessly on the ground. The Sergeant swung his power sword, as if to flick the blood off the shimmering power field, and then proceeded onward without even a slight change in his pace.
Taniguchi couldn't believe his eyes. The Emperor's Angels of Death, the demigod bushin of the Imperium had come to save them. And before their formidable might, the Iron Warriors that had so effortlessly devastated the armored lines of the Draconian Defenders were being driven back.
For a moment, he didn't recognize the Chapter. Their black power armor had led him to believe that they were Black Templars...or Raven Guard, but he noticed the left silver pauldron that every single Primaris Space Marine wore. That insignia...was that not the mark of the Ordo Xenos? The famed Deathwatch?
Even a common trooper like Taniguchi Takumi knew of the Deathwatch. Even though he was glad for the rescue, he was puzzled by their presence. Weren't the Deathwatch famous for fighting and destroying xenos? What were they doing here, and why were they engaging the traitor Iron Warriors in combat?
No matter. Taniguchi picked up his plasma gun and climbed out of the trench, following Belisarius Cawl's creations. Now that the Primaris Deathwatch Marines had arrived, the tide had turned against the heretics. As long as he followed their lead, the wounded and weary Astra Militarum regiment should be able to pull together and purge the remnants of the Archenemy. Already in the distance he could hear the rolling thunder of Leman Russ Executioner tanks coming to support the battered infantry squads.
With a smile on his face, Taniguchi pursued the retreating Iron Warriors while staying in the safe cover of the Death Reaper Primaris Space Marines. Whatever their agenda was, whatever reason they came to Hive Krask for, so long as they helped cleanse this world of the tainted traitors, he didn't mind remaining blissfully ignorant.
There's also the option of getting a Corvus Blackstar someday for much needed anti-tank support. I notice that I don't really have much in the way of anti-tank. Oh well. I want a Repulsor tank, but I also want my Leman Russ tanks, so....I'm going to stick with the Corvus Blackstar. It's much cooler. It's pretty dumb how I can't load Primaris Marines on the Corvus Blackstar, but whatever. It's meant to be a gunship anyway, so that's fine.

Even though I'm down a tank (and 4 Guardsmen), I have a lot more anti-tank capability. I guess we'll see how it goes, won't we? Oh, and in the end I decided to include Veterans because they're just so fun to play with. I like all the cool gear and special weapons they get, like the Deathwatch frag cannon, infernius heavy bolter and the really cool-looking Deathwatch power swords. I can change the fluff somewhat into making the Death Reapers an old, existing chapter that got wiped out to almost nothing during the Cicatrix Maledictum. The surviving core are the Veterans and the old surviving Chapter Master himself. Hell, I might be able to write a cool story about the Chapter Master eventually. I think. How the Death Reapers got destroyed, were saved by the Draconian Armored Defenders Astra Militarum and Imperial Knights of House Yato, and were bolstered by Roboute Guilliman's Ultima Founding or whatever. Since they were almost destroyed, they needed to rebuild, and hence the Death Reapers chapter is primarily made out of Primaris Space Marines, but they do have a small core of Veterans to train the Primaris Space Marines, so...cool, I guess?
Furthermore, I really, really like the Corvus Blackstar, which is the coolest-looking flyer in the game (of course the Space Marines get the coolest stuff, ugh...while we Imperial Guard are stuck with our rugged-looking Valkyrie assault carriers and Vendetta gunships). Since for some stupid reason the Corvus Blackstar can't transport Primaris Marines (why? Did the Emperor decree that or something?) I have no choice but to get a Veteran squad loaded up in it. Anyway, we'll see. This seems fun. My Imperial Guard has the tank and numbers to hold backfield objectives, while my Deathwatch Space Marines are the hammer...or the scalpel, rushing ahead to blow stuff up. Or something.
Conversely, I can try to build a pure Deathwatch army. If that's the case, I wouldn't mind dividing my forces into the Veteran Battalion where the survivors of the Death Reapers Space Marine Chapter are, and the new Primaris Space Marines into a second Battalion. The division between old veterans and new Primaris Marines could be a very fluffy and thematic way of designing the chapter's lore.

This is so gonna cost me a lot of money...I don't know. What should I do? I want my Imperial Guard in the army, but I really like this list (except that random Intercessor squad). The Veterans in this list, in particular, really shines on their own with specific kill teams matched and made into their strengths. But this doesn't suit me and I prefer to stick to my Astra Militarum army.
