Armory of the Warlord and Warmaster Titans

Good morning, fellow Princeps and Moderatii! This is your teaching adept at the Collegia Titanicus, and today we will be conducting a lecture on the weapons available to Warlord Titans and Warmaster Titans.

Take note, this is not a tactics overview for the Adeptus Titanicus game or the 28mm scale Warhammer 40,000 or Horus Heresy games. Rather, this is more of a fluff piece summarizing what kind of weapons the Warlord Titan possesses into a single page for your convenient reading. Kind of like those lore videos on Youtube...ahem, the Noosphere. Seems like content creators are more into videos...uh, I mean holo-vids than blog posts these days, which makes me obsolete, but hey, I'm sticking to my blog for as long as I can. Anyway...

Carapace Weapons for a Warlord Titan

Apocalypse Missile Launcher

The Apocalypse Missile Launcher is basically a pair of missile pods that launch high explosive warheads at supersonic speeds, capable of blanketing a square kilometer of the battlefield in detonations. They are an artillery type weapon that lay down a barrage of destructive fire from extreme ranges, far surpassing the range of most of the Warlord Titan's other weapons.

Vulcan Mega-bolter Array

The Vulcan Mega-bolter Array is a pair of multi-barrelled miniguns that spit out high caliber rounds at an incredible speed - about 300 rounds per second. Though usually an anti-infantry weapon capable of annihilating entire companies of soldiers, the Vulcan is powerful enough to wreck light tanks and lightly armored vehicles, as well as buildings. However, it has more difficulty in penetrating the hull of heavily armored tanks and bunkers. It is an inaccurate and unsubtle weapon, but the shrapnel produced by thousands of exploding high caliber shells more than compensate for its lack of precision. It does have a short range when compared to its other weaponry, though.

Paired Laser Blaster

The Laser Blaster is a highly destructive laser weapon that possesses long range and incredible firepower, able to penetrate deep into the bedrock of the earth and leave glassed furrows. The sheer heat of the weapons can incinerate nearby infantry unfortunate enough to be in the vicinity, even if they aren't the targets. They are powerful enough to punch through the thick armor of even super-heavy tanks. The carapace version is a pair of triple barreled Laser Blasters, which costs more resources but packs more firepower.

Paired Turbo Laser Destructors

Almost identical to the paired Laser Blasters above, the Turbo Laser Destructors are twin barreled laser blasters, which means they are cheaper and cost less resources to manufacture, though they are a bit less potent. Then again, the Laser Blasters are probably overkill against most targets, and the Turbo Laser Destructors still possess two-thirds of their destructive power, enough to destroy most super-heavy tanks in a single salvo.

Paired Gatling Blasters

Similar to the Vulcan Mega-bolter, the Gatling Blasters are rapidly spinning multi-barreled weapons that fire 150mm high explosive shells at incredible velocities, capable of both anti-infantry and even anti-vehicle purposes. They are slightly more powerful than the Vulcan Mega-bolter, able to threaten heavily armored targets. Even super-heavy tanks are likely unable to withstand a barrage of such powerful ordnance.

Arm Weapons for a Warlord Titan

Macro Gatling Blaster

Like the Gatling Blasters above, the macro variant is a larger variant that is capable of spitting out high ordnance at a rate of thousands of armor-piercing shells per minute.

Belicosa Volcano Cannon

The Belicosa Volcano cannon is among the most powerful weapons that the Warlord Titan can field, capable of unleashing terawatts of energy in a blazing white laser beam that causes a huge recoil. It can destroy an enemy war engine in a single shot or completely disintegrate even an unshielded super-heavy tank or fortifications in a single salvo. Only void shields can withstand a direct hit. Only the plasma reactors of a Warlord Titan or a Warbringer Nemesis Titan can supply adequate amount of energies to power such a massive and extremely powerful weapon, and even then, firing it will tax their reactors. Do take note that I'm ignoring all the weird fluff about Cinderus XI and heretic psykers because 1. it's probably retconned at this point and 2. it's highly impractical for all the Titan Legions and Forge Worlds to source minerals and crystals from a single world. 3. This is one of the most common weapons among Titans during the Horus Heresy - and there were thousands of Titans then, and while psykers were persecuted, I doubt the forge worlds that were being reclaimed across the galaxy had ready access to such minerals and crystals when they were isolated prior. Yet they already had pre-existing Titans with mounted volcano cannons. Most of these weapons and Titans have long existed since before the Age of Strife/Old Night, and probably were invented during the Dark Age of Technology, so all these weird outdated lore is obsolete and can be treated as superstition and tall tales fabricated by overimaginative adepts who bought too much into the whole grimdark nonsense.

Mori Quake Cannon

The Mori Quake Cannon is an artillery piece that shares the same long range capability as the Apocalypse Missile Launcher, lobbing Quake Shells that result in seismic shockwaves that stagger enemy targets and strong enough to breach fortifications. Again, we're going to ignore the old fluff about the "fragment of a planet subjected to Exterminatus" nonsense because it's probably retconned by now, and also, it's highly impractical and makes no sense. Given that these weapons exist during the Horus Heresy and before that - way before the Age of Strife/Old Night and during the Dark Age of Technology, we probably do not have planets being subjected to Exterminatus during those periods. Hell, Inquisitors didn't even exist back during the Horus Heresy, but you have thousands of Titans running around bearing such weapons and shells. C'mon. I know you want grimdark stuff, but this is just taking things too far. Once again, such info is obsolete and can be considered fanciful flights of imagination from overzealous adepts.

Sunfury Plasma Annihilator

A massive and powerful plasma weapon, which draws upon the Warlord Titan's plasma reactor to generate a superheated stream of energized state of matter found in stars, the Sunfury Plasma Annihilator lays down a scorching barrage that covers large areas, and each of these are powerful enough to melt super-heavy tanks to slag or even level an enemy war engine. If necessary, the Princeps can draw even more power from his engine's plasma reactor to increase the firepower of the Sunfury Plasma Annihilator, risking overheating in order to lay down an even more destructive bombardment. Now, we're going to ignore the old fluff about plasma weapons being manufactured only on Ryza because it doesn't make sense from a logistics standpoint, and most of these scattered forge worlds and their Titan Legions long possess plasma weapons even before they reunited with the Imperium (and thus getting access to Ryza tech). I believe the "plasma weapons manufactured only on Ryza" fluff has probably been retconned by now. Besides, our very own forge world, Draconis IV, manufactures our own plasma weapons such as plasma decimators, Sunfury plasma annihilators, plasma blastguns and even the Suzerain Plasma Destructors, thanks to exiled Tech-priests from Ryza making their new home here, so we already know for sure that it's not accurate.

Arioch Titan Power Claw

A Titan-sized Power Fist, the Arioch Power Claw serves as a close combat weapon that generates a disruptive energy field on a massive scale, allowing the wielder to tear chunks out from an enemy war engine. It is pretty much the Daddy version of an Imperial Knight's Thunderstrike Gauntlet.

Volkite Destructor

The Volkite Destructor is a Martian patterned weapon that fires heat rays that incinerate its targets, and while usually an anti-infantry weapon capable of spontaneously combusting the ranks of entire companies, the Volkite Destructor is equally capable of overloading void shields by overheating them, and by drawing energy from the plasma reactor, a Princeps is able to focus its heat ray into a concentrated beam of blazing power.

Graviton Ruinator

The Graviton Ruinator is a gravity weapon that turns the mass of a target against it, crumpling them into wrecked shells. They are powerful enough to rip even enemy Titans apart, as long as they are unprotected by void shields.

Extirpator Conversion Beam Cannon

The Extirpator Conversion Beam Cannon are esoteric, complex beam weapons that focus an unstable but deadly beam on a target at extreme range, increasing in firepower over longer distances. However, they are taxing on the plasma reactor. Even so, a bold Princeps can still draw more power from the plasma reactor to increase the strength of the conversion beam cannon further, blowing a hole in his target while risking his engines shutting down from overheat.

Shoulder Weapons for a Warmaster Titan

The shoulder weapons for a Warmaster Titan are mostly modeled after the Warhound Titan and Reaver Titan's arm weapons - such is the immense size and power of a Warmaster Titan that the primary armaments of a Warhound Titan or a Reaver Titan are shoulder mounted secondary weapons on the former. They consist of pairs of Apocalypse Missile Arrays, Inferno Guns, Turbo Laser Destructors, Vulcan Mega-bolters, Melta Cannons and Plasma Blastguns. Most of these have been covered above, though the Plasma Blastgun is a smaller variant of the Sunfury Plasma Annihilator, the Inferno Guns are massive flamethrowers that bath their targets in superheated flames produced by a mixture of Promethium and highly flammable chemicals - hot enough to melt even power armor - and Melta Cannons, which are melta weapons more commonly found on Reaver Titans, short-ranged weapons that fire concentrated thermal blasts that melt even heavily armored targets at the molecular level.

Carapace Weapon for a Warmaster Titan

Revelator Missile Launcher

The Relevator Missile Launcher fires powerful missiles from long range, heavy ordnance that are more powerful than the projectiles fired from Apocalypse Missile Launchers. Most likely armor-piercing bunker busters.

Cruciator Gatling Array

Usually found on the Iconoclast variant of the Warmaster Titan, it's a twin Gatling cannon that spits out high ordnance shells at an incredible rate, capable of crumpling even tanks despite usually being an anti-infantry weapon.

Arm Weapons for a Warmaster Titan

Suzerain Class Plasma Destructor

The Suzerain Plasma Destructor is a triple barreled plasma destructor that draws so much power from the Warmaster Titan that they actually have a secondary plasma reactor dedicated to supplying them with the energies required to fire. They are more powerful than even the Sunfury Plasma Annihilator, and deadlier at close range, capable of melting through the thick armor of enemy Titans in seconds, though at the cost of taxing the plasma reactors of the Warmaster Titan.

Desolator Chainsword

The Desolator Chainsword are massive chainswords that can bypass void shields and scythe down enemy war engines in close combat, cutting through even heavy armor and aiming for vulnerabilites with uncanny precision. They are found primarily on the Iconoclast variant.

Krius Siege Drill

The Krius Siege Drill was initially a mining tool designed for excavating bedrock and mountainsides, but it is now repurposed to crack fortresses. Equipped with fusion beams, it is capable of softening rock, plascrete and even Titan heavy armor. It's usually only found on the Iconoclast variant, being paired with the Desolator Chainsword to turn the Warmaster Titan into a dedicated close combat unit.

Krius Grav Imploder

The Krius Grav Imploder focuses gravity into a beam that turns the mass of an enemy target against itself, capable of crumpling Knights or even cause Titans to...uh, implode. Again, it's usually only found on the Iconoclast variant, and is the alternative to the Krius Siege Drill.

Finishing Notes
All right, fellow Princeps and Moderatii, this concludes my lecture on the weapons available to Warlord and Warmaster Titans. Will we be having a lesson on Warhound and Reaver Titans? Nope, for Legio Draconis only have Warlord and Warmaster Titans, but no Warhound or Reaver Titans. We might have a couple of Dire Wolves, but that's about it. Oh, well. We have Imperator Titans too! If we ever get a model for them, that is...

The next lesson will be on the armory of Knight engines instead. I would like to say have fun, but I see a couple of Princeps at the back dozing off. Yes, you two. You know who you are. I doubt any of you will be here for that, though, for that class will be conducted for the noble Bushi of House Yato instead. But you're more than welcome to attend if you want. Till then!

Ave Omnissiah.
