My blog is primarily my own personal fluff in the Warhammer 40,000 universe regarding the Draconis system such as the Knight House Yato in Ryusei, their Household Militia, the Draconian Defenders, and the Forge World of Draconis IV with its Adeptus Mechanicus priesthood, Cybernetica cohorts and Skitarii legions, and the Titan Legion, Legio Draconis, known as the Dark Dragons.

Mont'Ka incoming

I know I'm late to the party, but Games Workshop has their Warzone Damocles Mont'Ka up for pre-order online. I already ordered mine in my usual hobby shop.

Well, here is the description:

Following a humbling defeat at the hands of Commander Shadowsun, the forces of the Imperium return to the former hive world of Agrellan, now the Tau Empire’s youngest Sept world of Mu’gulath Bay. Countless regiments of Guardsmen are thrown into the meat grinder as the Imperial commanders vow to reclaim the world from the Tau, and even deadlier assets wait in orbit. Yet while the Imperium may believe it is they who will land the decisive strike, they have reckoned without the return of the exiled Commander Farsight – though considered a renegade by his people, he is the master of Mont’ka, the strategy of the killing blow.

Continuing the narrative left off in War Zone Damocles: Kauyon, this is a truly spectacular chapter in the story of the Tau Empire! Included are two hardback books - a 120-page narrative campaign, and an 88-page rulebook in a hardback slipcase. These books feature a host of content and updates:

Eleven new Formations for Codex: Tau Empire;
New Detachment and Farsight Enclaves Tactical objectives;
Eight Lords of War and ten Formations for Codex: Astra Militarum;
Full rules for the Officio Assassinorum Assassins, including the Execution Force Formation

An essential purchase for all Tau Empire and Astra Militarum players!

So there you have it. An being an Imperial Guard...I mean Astra Militarum player, I must buy this book. I need the eight Lords of War datasheets and ten Formations for Astra Militarum! It's for the Cadians, and the Draconians are wannabe Cadians (I should emphasize that in the fluff section that I'll do in the coming weeks). So it makes perfect sense that they try to follow the Cadians' formations, fighting style, tactics and company divisions to the best of their abilities. In fact, even their uniforms are modeled after the Cadians! The only difference is that the Draconian Armored Defense Force focuses primarily on armored tank formations.

One of the formations is the Emperor's Shield Infantry Platoon, and you can order the whole bundle online here. It seems to comprise of a single infantry platoon, 2 heavy weapon squads and 3 Sentinels. Looking forward to it! But to be honest, I'm looking forward more to the Baneblade and Baneblade variants as well as the armored tank formations! I can't wait! Will be great if they have a Vendetta formation too!

The Games Workshop website also has the Battlegroup Hammerblow, which is a web exclusive formation. The description is as follows:

Appropriately named for their intensely aggressive tactics on Agrellan, Battlegroup Hammerblow were commanded by Colonel Schwarznek - a name associated with a desire for carnage. The Scout Sentinels roamed ahead of their comrades, calling in airborne Scion support at the the first hint of enemy presence. Once the Tau were engaged, the Hammerblow’s collective armoured might poured fire and hate in massive quantities onto the battlefield, damaging the Empire’s advance enough to justify their attrition.

This huge bundle brings you an immediate collection of the Astra Militarum’s finest! You’ll receive a huge number of miniatures - two Cadian Command Squads, two sets of Cadian Shock Troops, three Sentinels, two sets of Militarum Tempestus Scions, three Leman Russ’, four Chimeras, a Valkyrie and a Baneblade! Armour, air support and troops in one package. Includes web exclusive rules!

I can't see the words, but apparently rumors have it that the normal Cadian Shock Troops must be taken as an infantry platoon with 2-5 squads, and all must take Chimeras as dedicated transport, and the Militarum Tempestus Scions must also take the Valkyrie as a dedicated transport, but instead of making reserve rolls, they can come in automatically on any turn using Deep Strike, and will not scatter as long as they land within 12" of any Scout Sentinel. The infantry all have Objective Secured and Stubborn (wow! but not Fearless), and the Baneblade and Leman Russ tanks have twin-linked if firing at an enemy within 12" of any friendly unit from this formation. Sounds pretty awesome.

Please keep in mind that these are all rumors, so take them with a pinch of salt, and assume that I've misread what I read in this forum if it turns out to be a huge mistake. I apologize in advance!

There is also a great collection for people beginning Imperial Guard armies. The Backbone of the Imperium makes a great starter set for anyone beginning an Imperial Guard army, consisting of...well, just read the description.

The Astra Militarum - innumerable, heroic Guardsmen. Far from equal to the Space Marines, the Imperium would nonetheless be in a great deal of trouble indeed without them! Their strength lies in numbers and their indomitable spirit, not genetic enhancement and insane weaponry.

This bundle gives you an awesome set of models, enough to build up an Astra Militarum collection that will impress all who see it! You’ll receive a Chimera, two Leman Russ', twenty Cadians, one Demolisher, one Hydra, one Deathstrike, one Vengeance Weapons Battery, two Cadian Heavy Weapon Squads and an Officio Prefectus Commissar. Some serious hardware!

Note - some of these items are part of the Cadian Defence Force, and are boxed separately.

So have fun!

FOR THE EMPEROR!!!!
