My blog is primarily my own personal fluff in the Warhammer 40,000 universe regarding the Draconis system such as the Knight House Yato in Ryusei, their Household Militia, the Draconian Defenders, and the Forge World of Draconis IV with its Adeptus Mechanicus priesthood, Cybernetica cohorts and Skitarii legions, and the Titan Legion, Legio Draconis, known as the Dark Dragons.

Chaos Knights

Sorry for not posting as regularly. Knights Moirax are up for preorder and I didn't cover that other than the FAQ and forge world rules. Whoops. Anyway, I plan to get a couple because of how awesome they look, and I'm willing to trade the claws for more volkite weapons. So if anyone wants to trade their volkite weapons, or even lightning cannons for the claws, please let me know! I'm based in the United States, for reference.

But that's not what this post is about. I've managed to get my hands on a copy of the Chaos Knights codex, and...I'm kind of surprised by one thing. Why are most of the Chaos Knights pilots...women? That was just weird. Over half of the Knights featured in the Iconoclast and Infernal Houses (the lore and fluff pages) are women. I'm referring to the single-page devoted Knights. You have Dan Marta and Eternal Dread of House Herpetrax. You have Brynhild and The Burning Sky of House Khymere. You have Xitra CDV and Drixia's Maul of House Vextrix. You have Kyoptis and Prey Seeker of House Khomentis. That's four out of five Knights from the Iconoclast and Infernal Households. Okay, I'm all for gender equality, and I'm glad that women are getting featured much more in Warhammer 40,000, especially since it has been male dominated for so long. Hooray for Commissar Severina Raine!

But...this is just...weird. Or is Games Workshop saying that women Knight pilots and female nobles fall to Chaos more easily than men Knight pilots and male nobles? There are a few male Chaos Knights, like Obidar and Iron Malice of House Lucaris, but he's the only confirmed male so far. All the other Knight pilots featured are mostly female. Such a high proportion of female Chaos Knight pilots seem to indicate one thing.

That female nobles fall to Chaos more easily than male nobles. Everything begins to fall to place now. It makes sense now. Now I understand why House Cadmus and many other Knight Houses, such as House Procon Vi, only allow male pilots for their Imperial Knights. Because female pilots are more easily corrupted!

...or maybe I'm reading too much into it.
