New Balance Dataslate!

And here we have it! The new balance dataslate! And there's a massive update for both the Imperial Guard and the Adeptus Mechanicus! You can access it here.

You know what pleases me the most? First of all, Astra Militarum vehicles get Armor of Contempt now. All Astra Militarum vehicles. That means not only our armor 2+ save Leman Russ tanks, but our Chimeras, Sentinels, Baneblades, Valkyries and Hellhounds. Every damned vehicle. WOOHOO! Whatever they shoot at our Leman Russ tanks and Baneblades get a -1 to their AP! Hah!

Oh, and did I mention that all Imperial Guard Titanic vehicles are now 2+ save?

Hell, yeah!

Also, for Adeptus Mechanicus, our Sydonian Dragoons and Ironstriders Ballistarii now have their Core keyword back! YES! All praise the Omnissiah! Oh, and I think they reverted the Stratagem costs for the Enriched Rounds and Galvanic Volley Fire! Not sure if they're reverting the change from Rapid Fire 2 to Heavy 3, but this is great news!

I wonder how things will change? At least it's looking up for the Imperial Guard now!

The Mechanicum has arrived!

Yay! Horus Heresy Thursday and you know what they announced? You guessed it...the Mechanicum!

We're getting Liber Mechanicum for Horus Heresy! It includes the rules and datasheets for all the Horus Heresy Mechanicum units.

Oh, I should put the contents page as well.

Doesn't look like there's anything missing. At least not to my knowledge. Oh, the Macrorid Explorator or whatever that Land Raider thing was. Also, before you start crying, "Where are the Knight rules? Why can't I use my Knight Porphyrion or Knight Paladin/Errant/Crusader or Cerastus Knights?" like the people on Facebook are right now, well, look at the appendices. They've all been put under Divisio Tactica: Questoris Household. Why? I have no idea. But 16 pages for Knights, so phew. Right, and if you're wondering where Soria or the other characters are, look at Persona Schismata. As for Rites of War such as Ordo Reductor or Legio Cybernetica, hopefully it's under Mechanicum Special Rules, along with the Advanced Reactions and everything. The Orders of High Techno-arcana might be the different branches, like Macrotek Enginseer, Myrmidon, Malagra, Ordinator, Archimandrite, and Lachrimallus. Also, for the Omnissiah's sake, you get Titan Legions too. Look at the bloody Divisio Tactica: The Titan Legions in the contents page. Yet, I see people whining how the Titans are gone, how the Secutarii are taken out, how we're missing half our Knight list. As if they've somehow skipped past 10 pages of Titan Legions and 16 pages of Knight rules.

Not to sound mean or anything, but sometimes you guys (the people on Facebook, I mean) should calm down and read before jumping straight into bashing the poor social media team.

So yeah, I'm looking forward to it! Knights and Mechanicum are my main Heresy armies anyway, not Space Marines, so I like them more than the Space Marine Legions!

Kasrkin!

I know I'm late talking about this, but...better late than never. CADIA STANDS!

Needless to say, this is all over the Internet (how do you think I came across this?). I'm so excited for new Imperial Guard stuff, it's amazing! Yay! In Valrak's own words, "Oh my Holy Emperor..."

Well, Kasrkins, the new Cadian officer (Creed's daughter?), new Lord Commissar, new Sentinel, veteran Cadians (Cadian Shock Troops?), a new heavy weapon squad, and even a new command squad (whoa!). No sign of the Rogal Dorn tank, though, but I guess that will be coming soon.

I'm definitely getting Kasrkins, for kitbashing, maybe. We'll see. I might get a normal Kasrskin squad for my Imperial Guard army, but I'm also getting another box to kitbash them with volkite chargers to create Solar Auxilia. Yay! The new models all look absolutely amazing, but I just want the Kasrkins. I don't know about the Sentinels - I already have 3 of them, so I doubt I need more, but we shall see. But Kasrkins are awesome, both as regular storm troopers and converted Solar Auxilia.

Speaking of Solar Auxilia and Horus Heresy, we also have...

Boom. New plastic Land Raider for Horus Heresy, courtesy of our Chapter Master Valrak (you can see his face at the bottom right corner of the image). Well, we call him Chapter Master, but we're just Guardsmen and Knights, so we don't answer to him. We aren't even Chapter Menials, we're proud nobles of House Yato. And their House Militia (Imperial Guard, I suppose). I mean, we can do Skitarii as House Militia. I'm not sure, but we shall see. Ahem, I'm rambling about irrelevant stuff now. As you can see, this is a plastic Proteus pattern Land Raider!

Cool, I guess? I'll just focus on the Spartan for my Templar Assault Brethren for now (the Cataphractii Terminators with Vigil patterned storm shields). I can't wait to field my Imperial Fists Templar Brethren! Will also work on making a plasma-heavy Thousand Sons army to make use of the special Achean Force weapons. That will be cool...I think. But I don't know if I'm getting the Land Raider for either army. We'll see, I guess.

Returning to Singapore

I probably will not be posting hobby stuff for a while because I'm returning to Singapore. I'm also leaving my Warhammer 40,000 stuff in Minnesota, so I will not be having games in Singapore.

I'll do my best to stay on top of Warhammer 40,000 news and other hobby related stuff, but quite frankly, I don't think I will be doing any tabletop wargaming stuff over the next 2 months and 3 weeks. I'll only be back in August 19th or so hopefully I'll get a game or a new post on August 20th (since I go to my friendly local gaming store every Saturday), but from today until then, I will probably be on another planet.

For today, though, let's just say I'm heading into the warp on a transport barge, while leaving my Knight suit behind. Don't worry, my Sacristans will continue guarding and maintaining my Knights, so when I return in August, I can try out the new rules of the codex!

Maybe, if I'm really bored during the next two months, I'll just...write an Imperial Knights tactica or something. Or a codex article. Till then!
