My blog is primarily my own personal fluff in the Warhammer 40,000 universe regarding the Draconis system such as the Knight House Yato in Ryusei, their Household Militia, the Draconian Defenders, and the Forge World of Draconis IV with its Adeptus Mechanicus priesthood, Cybernetica cohorts and Skitarii legions, and the Titan Legion, Legio Draconis, known as the Dark Dragons.

Painting Frenzy

Phew, I finally got down to painting my Knights for Adeptus Titanicus. Oh, and I also painted the second las-impulsor and multilaser for my Questoris Knight, so now I can run 2 Knights Preceptor if I have to. Yay. But I have a Horus Heresy Weekender coming up next week, so I had to make sure all my Adeptus Titanicus Knights are painted by then. Otherwise...ahem, you know. I don't want to field unpainted Knights.

I can't wait to try out my Questoris Knights Styrix and Cerastus Knights Atrapos! I don't know how they will fare in Adeptus Titanicus, but they are worth a try. It'll be fun. Well, most likely they will get shot off the table before they can do anything significant, but that's perfectly fine. I don't expect to win, I expect that my Knight Household Army will get crushed against an all Titan army. But hey, I'm doing it for fun. Just like how I play Terran mech against Protoss...well, I play nothing but Terran mech in Starcraft 2. So yeah, something like that.

Too bad there's no Warmaster Battle Titan. I was so hoping to field him in the Horus Heresy Weekender, but nope. They didn't release him in time for that. I was hoping to buy and try him out alongside my Knight Household Army, but...yeah. It sucks, but at least I have my new Forge World Knights, so I ain't gonna complain. I'll rue the wasted opportunity to try out the Warmaster Titan, but it is what it is.

Oh, and now that I was painting, I took the chance to dabble some Valhallan Blizzard on my Forgefiend and Lord of Change. My Lord of Change was painted by a friend (all right, I commissioned him to do it because I was not confident of painting a Lord of Change at all). So yeah, I cheated. Sorry. Not that I ever said I will paint all my models (I mean, I buy some second-hand, so...).

I didn't have time to fully paint my Archaeopter Stratoraptor, so I just painted the cockpit. What? Why did I only paint the cockpit? So that I can glue the armorglass onto the cockpit. Yay. I'll paint the rest of the Archaeopter Stratoraptor when I have the chance and time.

I also painted my Armiger Warglaives. Now I have 4 Armiger class Knights to go with at least 2 Questoris Knights Preceptor. I have a third Questoris Knight, 2 Cerastus Knights (one Lancer, one Atrapos) and a single Dominus Knight Castellan. So I can also play a Knight Household in regular 40K as well.

What? Warzone Charadon: The Book of Rust, you say? Nah. I bought the book, yeah, but I'm not using House Raven. House Yato is not House Raven. And the Draconian Skitarii are not Metallica Skitarii. Also, I'm not sure how to say this, but the Mechanicus Defensive Cohort isn't for me. I love robots, yeah, but almost 90% of my Adeptus Mechanicus army is Skitarii. I don't even have Kataphron battle servitors! So I'm not going to bother with that. I'm sticking with my Skitarii. Yay.

All I need to wait for is my Skitarii Marshal...hopefully he'll be released alongside the Adeptus Mechanicus codex in April!

Volkite weapons for Titans!

So I was scrolling through the Warhammer Community website today and I saw that we will be having new volkite weaponry for our Titans.

Yeah, we are getting Martian heat rays for our Titans! Cool! In case you don't know what volkite weapons are, they are heat rays, or beams of energy that set targets on fire. As you probably know, my Draconian Imperial Guard regiment is equipped with a ton of volkite weaponry that date back to the Great Crusade. Draconis IV being one of the few forge worlds in the Imperium that continue to manufacture volkite weaponry, so the Draconian Guardsmen have volkite chargers, Draconian Carnodon tanks are usually equipped with volkite weaponry (volkite chargers and volkite culverins), the Knights have Armiger Moirax equipped with volkite veuglaires plus the Questoris Knight Styrix with their super-big volkite chieorovile, and even Space Marines who visit the forge world of Draconis IV for resupply get good old volkite weapons for Contemptor Dreadnoughts or neo-volkite pistols for Primaris Lieutenants.

So it wouldn't be surprising if the Titan Legions of Draconis IV, the Dark Dragons, get volkite weapons of their own.

Warlord Titans get volkite destructors and Reaver and Warhound Titans get volkite eradicators. So what do these do, exactly? Well, the volkite destructor has a range of 24" and is Strength 6 while the volkite eradicators have a range of 20" and are Strength 5. They are 3 attacks each and have the Voidbreaker (2) trait, which means you need to roll 2 extra dice whenever you make void shield saves.

At Strength 5 or 6, they won't be taking down Titans, but they are useful for clearing out Knight banners (ouch). Well, the purpose is to drain the Titan's shields. Apparently volkite weapons superheat the layers of void shields to overload them, so yeah. Cool. Wish they had more dakka, though. On the other hand, I just found out the voidbreaker trait is for each hit. So if you hit your target with the volkite weapon 3 times (somehow), the opponent has to make 9 saves. Holy Omnissiah. Okay, that's actually pretty good, but it's dependent on you hitting your target, of course. I think you'll force an average of 6 saves by hitting 2 out of 3 times with BS 3+.

In addition to voidbreaker trait, you also have a beam profile that you can switch to if you push the Titan's reactor. Well, only for the Warlord Titan's volkite destructor, anyway.

Since it's a Beam (1) trait, that means you can roll another 2 dice for the next model...provided you destroy the first one. So...yeah. Interesting.

When will we be getting volkite weapons? No idea. We'll find out...soon.

Skitarii Marshal incoming!

We have a Skitarii Marshal coming with a new Adeptus Mechanicus codex!

This will be a new HQ choice for the Skitarii, so if you want to lead an all Skitarii force or a Skitarii-heavy force, he's your guy! I'm definitely grabbing one of him to lead my Skitarii! Since I have a Skitarii heavy army, like a lot of Rangers, Skorpius Duneriders/Disintegrators, an Archaeopter, Serberys Sulphurhounds and Kastelan robots (wait, that's not Skitarii!). Funnily enough, I don't have much combat servitors (where's the Kataphrons, some of you may ask). And I hate Electro-priests, so I don't bother with them. I can't wait to field my Marshal with my Skitarii, though! And I look forward to seeing what they have for robots!

I can't wait to get my hands on the codex! Apparently the weapons for the Adeptus Mechanicus have all been tweaked! Hopefully this means galvanic rifles get better stats (apparently radium carbines are improved). I can't wait! I wonder if arc weaponry and plasma weaponry would be improved too for the Adeptus Mechanicus. And how about the robots? And phosphor weapons? I can't wait! We shall see. I don't know if we will still have Imperial Knights being featured in the codex but I doubt it. If they do show up as Lords of War in the codex, that will be cool too, but I won't get my hopes too high up.

And for those asking for xenos codex...well, seems like Orks will be coming shortly after the Adeptus Mechanicus, so fret not!

Primaris Tech

I managed to get more Primaris reinforcements today! This time, I bought a Primaris Techmarine in order to go with my mechanized force and Redemptor Dreadnought. I mean, I have a Repulsor Executioner with a Primaris Techmarine driving it, so I might as well get one as my HQ.

Yeah, so my Primaris Techmarine can either double as a 2nd HQ for my Battalion Detachment or take charge of a second Patrol Detachment. I'm not sure how I'm going to group my forces, but we'll see. If I have him take charge of a second Patrol Detachment, he will be driving around in his own personal Impulsor. I would probably grab a few Servitors for him. Given that I have at least eight servo-automata from my Skitarii forces lying around, I might as well have them do double duty for my Black Templars. Well, pending...I might just use a generic Sons of Dorn successor Chapter and use the Legacy of Dorn Doctrine for the fun of it. The one with Bolter Fusillade and either Scions of the Forge (since it's a heavily mechanized list) or Warded (for protection against mortal wounds when I supercharge my plasma weapons for my vehicles).

But yeah, my Bladeguard Veterans will definitely be Black Templars. Now I have a total of nine Bladeguard Veterans. I just like sword-wielding dudes. So...yeah, Black Templars. I plan to have a 6-man squad of Bladeguard Veterans and a single 3-man squad of Bladeguard Veterans. They are Sword Brothers or Sword Brethren because you know, Black Templars. So yay. Since I have an Impulsor and a Repulsor Executioner, the plan was to stick 6 of them in one transport (most likely the Impulsor), while the 3-man squad accompany the Primaris Captain with storm shield, Primaris Lieutenant with neo-volkite pistol and storm shield and Bladeguard Ancient in the other transport (the Repulsor Executioner). Then they will disembark and charge at the enemy. Pretty cool, huh? Oh, and once again, I have dual-wielding Bladeguard Veterans. So now at least three of them dual wield. So I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do. Or rule of cool.

As for my Eradicators...yeah. I now have a squad of Eradicators for my all-gravis army. They'll fit in with my Aggressors and Heavy Intercessors (when I get them eventually). An all-gravis army where all models have a minimum of Toughness 5...except the Primaris Techmarine (but he has a 2+ armor save). That will be cool. I can't wait!

More Primaris Reinforcements

So my Black Templars received a few reinforcemens again this week. This time in the form of a mighty Redemptor Dreadnought! I gave him a macro plasma incinerator (which can be swapped out for a heavy onslaught cannon), mostly because I like plasma. Oh, and might as well make use of the Black Templars' resistance against mortal wounds. If I supercharge and roll ones (and my Primaris Captain is too far away), then I'll still have a chance of saving the wound with a 5+++ Feel No Pain against mortal wounds.

As for the Aggressors...well, cool, I guess? I like gravis armored Space Marines, with the exception of Inceptors (I think the Inceptors look dorky and weird as the warp). So I'm going to collect a few Space Marines in gravis armor. I'll probably grab the Heavy Intercessors and Captain with master-crafted heavy bolt rifle, as well as a few Eradicators to round out my army. Throw in the Aggressors, the Redemptor Dreadnought and a couple of Repulsor Executioner tanks and I can have an all-gravis army! We'll see. I need to save up for a second Repulsor Executioner, so I won't be getting him any time soon.

But an all gravis army appeals to me in the same way I want an all Terminator army (sort of like Deathwing, but I'm not a Dark Angels fan, I prefer the Sons of Dorn, especially since I've read The Beast Arises and I like the Black Templars from Black Legion). Well, since we have Heavy Intercessors as Troops, I might as well try it out. It'll be fun...I think. I need to grab a Primaris Techmarine for that sweet 2+ armor save (and also since I have them driving my Repulsor Executioner tanks). And since the Black Templars Chapter Tactics don't really suit my all gravis army very well, I'll have to make some alterations. I'll probably just use an Imperial Fists Successor Chapter, but with custom Chapter Tactics. With the amount of bolt weaponry I have (Heavy Intercessors, Aggressors, all the vehicles), I might as well take the Bolt Fusillade Chapter Tactic. I'll probably choose Warded for the second one to keep the defense against mortal wounds (since I have quite a bit of plasma). Also, the Legacy of Dorn doctrine will benefit my plasma weapons a lot more than usual...giving them up to 4 damage, I think? But only during the first turn and if I supercharge them, of course. Well, we'll see.

But for now I'll focus on my Black Templars army. It's not as if the Heavy Intercessors will be coming any time soon...oh, never mind. I have no intention of buying the Pariah Nexus Kill Team box. I'll wait for the Heavy Intercessors to be released separately.
